The Truth About Twitter

After coaching many yoga-centric clients on social media, I've found yet another common question: Should I be devoting time to Twitter?

My simple answer: Probably not.

Don't get me wrong, Twitter is still an incredibly powerful social media tool, but if your time is limited, you should only use it for very specific purposes. I break it all down in the short video below, but if you only have a few seconds to read this article, read this:  Spend less time on Twitter, and more time on Instagram and Facebook. Let those networks auto-post to your Twitter feed.

How-to: Schedule Facebook Posts in Advance

Let’s be real. There are very few people who actually enjoy promoting themselves online. I’m sure the last thing you want to do is spend countless hours behind the computer trying to get more Facebook fans. Right?

After months of consulting sessions, emails, and comments –
I get it. You’re a yogi, not a marketer. You want to spend less time online and more time doing what you love. I hear you. Now allow me to help...

I’m excited to share a Facebook trick that saves me hours each week. Introducing, the Facebook post scheduler.

Did you know that you can schedule all of your fan page posts in advance directly from Facebook's interface? The process is incredibly simple. Let me explain.

Once you've written a post, click the clock icon on the bottom left corner of the form. This will cause drop-down menus to appear. Use these drop-down menus to select a future date and time for your post to be published.

Navigate to the Activity Log, which is located in the menu at the top of your fan page. The Activity Log displays all scheduled and previously published content. This is where you'll go to double check your newly scheduled post.

Once you're in the Activity Log, you should see your post with the scheduled date and time listed underneath. If you ever need to edit, reschedule, or delete a post, just click the small arrow in the top right corner.

That's all! Now sit back, relax, and allow Facebook to automatically post for you. You don't even need to be logged in for the scheduler to do its job. Just be sure to check back, reply to comments, and be a part of the conversation.

Do you like this new tip? Have tips of your own? I'd love to hear your thoughts and questions in the comments section. I'll be reading every single one.

Happy posting!
