As we move forward toward our dreams, sometimes difficult things do come up. And giving yourself permission just to FEEL your feelings, without needing to do anything about them, or push them down, or make them better, just to feel them, is a radical act of self-love.

If you’re having trouble being vulnerable OR feeling, naming, and honoring your emotions - this free guided meditation will help you (even if you’ve never meditated before).

Feeling the hard stuff can be a challenge.

But it’s a gift to yourself.

As we move forward toward our dreams, sometimes difficult things do come up, and giving yourself permission just to feel your feelings without needing to do anything about them or push them down or make them better, just to feel them, is a radical act of self-love.
This practice is here to give you a space, just to feel it, all the way in.

Go ahead and find a comfortable way to sit, close your eyes if you feel comfortable doing so, and reach your arms just around yourself and give yourself a hug.
Squeezing, just gently on the sides of your arms or shoulders, let this be relaxed and easy.
And take a deep breath in, and a deep breath out.

Now with me, inhale for one, two, three, four.
Hold for one, two, three, four.
Exhale one, two, three, four.
Hold it out for one, two, three.

Again, inhale one, deeper, two, three, four.
Hold for one, two, three, four.
Exhale one, two, three, four.
Hold it out for one, two, three.

Last time, inhale one, two, three, four.
Hold for one, two, three, four.
Exhale one, two, three, four.
Hold it out for one, two, three, and four.

Now just breathe normally, and whether you're in the middle of a storm right now or not, or if there's a difficult situation happening in your life right now or not, or if there's something in your life that you've been pushing down and haven't given yourself the time or space to feel right now, I want you to bring it forward.

Emotions are like your internal weather, and so there's no point, and standing outside and yelling at the rain.
When a storm comes, we let it pass through.

So feel the feeling and just for a moment longer, hug yourself.
You can even caress yourself a little bit with your fingers.

We're creating a safe space for you to feel your feelings.
Let it come over you.

It's okay to feel this way.
It's okay to feel this way.
It's okay to feel this way.

For the next few moments, just let the emotions arise.
It's okay to feel this way.
It's okay to feel this way.

Let it come up.
It's okay to feel this way.
It's okay.
It's okay to feel this way.
It's okay.
It's okay to feel this way.
It's okay.
It’s okay.
It’s okay.
It’s okay.
It's okay to feel this way.
It's okay.
It's okay.
It’s okay.

And now begin to tell yourself these words.
It's okay to feel this way.
It's okay to feel this way.
Tell it to yourself.

Let's do a breathing practice together, to help regulate the nervous system.
Take a deep breath in, and a deep breath out.
And this next practice, you'll inhale for four, and exhale for six.

Let's do it together.
Start by just taking a deep breath in, and a deep breath out.
And now with me, inhale for one, two, three, four.
Exhale one, two, three, four, five, six.

Inhale one, two, deeper, three, four.
Exhale one, two, three, four, five, six.

Inhale one, two, three, four.
Exhale one, two, three, four, five, and six.

Place your hands now over your heart, and repeat these words to yourself.
I am safe in here.
I am allowed to feel.
I am safe in here.
I am allowed to feel.
I am safe in here.
I am allowed to feel.
You are allowed to feel.
You are allowed to feel.

Go ahead and take a deep breath in, and a deep breath out.
And when you're ready, I invite you to open your eyes.

Feeling the hard stuff, the hard stuff, is a gift to yourself, it's like a cleansing.
And so much of the tension that we feel in our lives is from pushing our emotions down, and sometimes we have to push things down just to function or just to get through our day, but it's so important and such a gift to give yourself the space to let those emotions come through.
Without needing to fix them or make them better, just to let them move through you, just to feel them, is a radical act of self-love.

But please remember, you are not these emotions, they are passing through you, just like the weather, and you can weather any storm.
